Art is important for the world because it can identify who we are, what we do,  where we come from, when we change and how we live. Art is like a tool to send message and connect to each other. Art is like a sign of tradition and culture in each area. Art is recording the fact of human act, civilisation and revolution in each era such as painting on the caves,  architecture buildings , statues around the world. It can shows how we learn the world around us from different environment. We can know human belief, thought and behavior through art. Art makes people learn more deeply about life, nature and also the world. Without art , the world would not be like nowadays.

For an individual artist, art is important for an artist because art makes artist to know what is a significant purpose to live in this world. Art always stimulate artist to think how they will see the world in thier own way. Artist is like an important path of recording a human history through their art. What they create will show how human see the world in his time. Art makes artist know that they have a duty to offer a new vision and new direction of human being to the world. Artist can use art to change many things especially human view and behaviour that can change the future of the world.

Internationale Kunst Heute Book 2014

German Text: Dr. Ingrid Gardill

English Text: Translation of Dr. Ingrid Gardill ‘s text

Thai artist Sahatarch Pittarong creates his extraordinary mix-media sculptures, combined tradition with modernity. It’s a nearly 40 cm figures which he produces in series. He calls “Empty Sculptures” All feature cast resin are mixed with the natural materials and color. The appearance varies by the additions that form, however, remains the same. This shows a human figure with praying, slightly bent-forward posture that puts them all in the Asian tradition, while the clothing with short-sleeved shirt, shorts and boots appear tourist-thwart. The head consists of an empty cylindrical vessel.

In his photographic works, Pittarong stage this somewhat absurd, but nonetheless charming-looking figure. He puts them in different contexts, and it is always the head tube, which it seems the artist arrives. On the mountains, a bright glow like a reflection begins in the transparent vessel, on the sea beach it is filled with sand and the washing area with water.

Is it a symbol of one’s self as an empty vessel?

Is it the inner emptiness of the tourist or pilgrim, which he fills with his perceptions?

Pittarong has no clear answer, but he succeeds.

He manages the figure character in the staging to give lighting moods and  positioning them very own magic

on the mountain that it acts enlightened, lost in back view on the beach and waterfront space humble.
