The Cultural Village Foundation- Katara in cooperation with the Portuguese Embassy has launched an exhibition entitled “Transitory Art” by the curator Francisco Lacerda.
The exhibition was inaugurated in the presence of Katara’s Human Resources Manager Saif Al-Dosary, the representative of the Embassy of Portugal to Qatar, Pedro Laima, and ambassadors of Algeria, Italy, Austria, Thailand, and Cyprus as well as art enthusiasts, and media.
While stressing the important role of Katara, Layma said that the exhibition offers a variety of artworks by artists from different countries and carries a high artistic message opening horizons for mutual acquaintance and coexistence amongst cultures.
The exhibition displays a number of 30 paintings by 15 artists from Portugal, Russia, Japan, Argentine, United Kingdom, and Germany.
“The paintings, which took almost a year of preparation, address a wide array of artistic perspectives and techniques. I’ve chosen the Cultural Village to display this type of Arts as it is an ideal hub to display such paintings and is considered a cultural edifice that embeds diverse cultures and fine art,” said Lacerda.
He said he had presented a series of exhibitions in Portugal, Britain and Spain, and is about to host other exhibitions in France, China and the United States of America.
“Transitory Art” exhibition is open to the public until January 30 at Katara Building 22.
